UMBRO

This was a research project for Umbro, not that I enjoyed it too much to start with it soon became like a bad video game that wouldn't go away until you have completed all the levels and defeated the monster at the end. I think that pretty much explains how I felt but I am please with my final outcome.

INVASION

Invading our street style and culture are religious customs from around the world, from the way we dress to our fabulous lifestyles.  Invasion is about cultures and religions coming together in the future.  The Middle East has been my host over the summer,   adapting to their habits and participating in their traditions is a must, where as England welcomes all faiths regardless of their rituals to visit and to live with no obligation to change. The styling concept came from a mix of cultures clashing together to give an alien like appearance from the future.

i will be adding new pictures of the final presentation

In Wolves clothing: Re-Imagining the Doll

How can I explain such a great use of space?  This a place that I want to visit as often as I can. Show Studios are forever changing around their shop to sell new innovative pieces of art and fashion. Show Studios Shop has a clean white but aged interior which acts as a perfect home to all the art hanging on its walls.

My favorite pieces in the current collection of In Wolves clothing: Re-Imagining the Doll are by Nick Knight. I love his styling it is always fresh and clean, he puts old and new together to create something somewhat imaginative. In Particular:

Aimee Mullins #02
Nick Knight, 1998
Aimee Mullins for Dazed and Confused
C-Type Print
10 x 8 inches | 25.4 x 20.3 cm

£ 10,000

The exhibition also includes other works by Michael Baumgarten, Barbie, Marina Bychkova, Nancy Fouts, Emma Gibson, Nick Knight, Laurie Simmons & Peter Jensen, Lone Siggurdson, Viktor & Rolf and Andrew Yang. Downstairs in the Gallery there is a screening room which shows videos of art and fashion films by Maria Cristina Carbonell, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Desiree Holman, and Lauren Kelley.

Davies St

Walking from Bond St station down Davies St I discovered many interesting little shops and galleries. If you are shopping on Oxford St I recommend you take a walk down and experience something spectacular. It is very easy to find: the road opposite HMV.
One of the most interesting places I found was an Antiques Market. It is spectacular! You walk in thinking there are a few small traders, then you find that there is a downstairs and a phenomenal amount of sellers, traders and buyers. http://www.graysantiques.com/

Damien Hirst

I didn't plan to visit the Gagosian Gallery but walking past it was like a moth to a flame! As soon as I saw an image of a skull Damien Hirst popped into my head, nothing else came to mind- not even death. His crystal scull is what did it for me ever since 2007. The pieces he is exhibiting are all for sale..... if only money wasn't an issue! Poisions and Remidies work perfectly togther in the small white Gallery space, your eyes dart from one to the other. His work has alot of deeper meanings; life and death being the most obvious.

This link sends you straight to the Gallerys website where you can download a pdf, this explains all of Damien Hirsts thoughts and processes for his work.

Portrait of Dhyan

Lit by candle light, this image becomes characteristic of classic Renaissance paintings from the 14th century. I feel like the emotion should be the most important factor of these photographs as they are portraits, I hope that I portrayed this well.
